Consulting offering for implementing the telematics infrastructure (TI)

The telematics infrastructure (TI) connects all stakeholders in the healthcare system, including doctors, dentists, psychotherapists, hospitals, pharmacies and health insurers. It will ensure that medical information required for patient treatment is available more quickly and across sectors.
After Policyholder Master Data Management (VSDM), the first medical applications are being added to the TI. These are Emergency Data Management (NFDM), the Electronic Medication Plan (eMP) and the Electronic Patient Record (ePA). These should lighten the load in practices and hospitals while improving treatment.

Our consulting offering
It is becoming clear that the scope of changes in hospitals will be much larger than in a typical IT project. It makes sense to develop a comprehensive process strategy at management level, so you will be adequately prepared to face the complex challenges and take advantage of opportunities arising.

We support you with our consulting offering for implementing TI specialist applications in hospitals. We focus on seamlessly integrating the TI applications ePA (Electronic Patient Record), eMP/AMTS (Medication Plan) and NFDM (Emergency Data Management) into your processes, using the hospital information system SAP IS-H/CERNER i.s.h.med.
For more information see the datasheet.

Specialized applications

The telematics infrastructure provides various applications for policyholders and service providers. These can be divided into mandatory and optional applications.

ePA (Electronic Patient Record)

People with state health insurance can use the electronic patient record (ePA) on a voluntary basis to manage their health-related documents securely for the rest of their lives. The information contained in the record can be accessed by policyholders themselves, as well as their doctors, dentists, psychotherapists and pharmacists (‘service providers’) – provided the policyholder has authorized the practice or pharmacy to do so.

The ePA comprises the following functions, which are performed by staff at the institution:

  1. 1. ePA administration
  2. 2. Document management

The solution package contains the components you need to use the interfaces specified by gematik for the specialized application ePA. It supports the related use cases in the primary system.

NFDM (Emergency Data Management)

Emergency data management (NFDM) means the handling of information that is stored on the policyholder’s electronic health card (eGK) and is used when the policyholder receives emergency treatment.
NFDM comprises two separate data containers, or data records:

  1. An emergency data record (medical data relevant in an emergency), or NFD for short
  2. A data record with personal statements – the DPE

The solution package contains the components you need to use the interfaces specified by gematik for the specialized application NFDM, specifically the NFD. It supports the related use cases in the primary system.

eMP/AMTS (Electronic Medication Plan)

Information about medical treatment can be stored on the health card voluntarily as an electronic medication plan – or e-medication plan (eMP) for short. The eMP contains information about a patient's medication plus data related to it (e.g. allergies or renal function levels). The eMP allows data to be exchanged between all those involved in a patient's treatment and therefore plays an important role in improving the safety of pharmacological therapy.

The solution package contains the components you need to use the interfaces specified by gematik for the specialized application eMP/AMTS, specifically for communication with the connector for reading and writing to the eGK. It supports the related use cases in the primary system.
