The ePA
German health insurance providers are subject to specific gematik requirements governing the content to be provided by the ePA. The digital record can include findings, doctors’ letters and X-ray images, as well as vaccination records, maternity records, the yellow paediatric examination record and the dental bonus booklet.
All ePA data is stored and processed securely, in line with gematik requirements. The user of the ePA therefore has control of the data and can specify which examination results and medical data are to be stored, and who can access what

The ePA is updated at regular intervals to expand its scope for application and offer policyholders new functions.

Electronic patient record for 'AOK-Gemeinschaft'
x-tention has been implementing the ePA file system (backend) for the 'AOK Gemeinschaft' with over 26 million insured persons since 2021. As the 'AOK Mein Leben' app, the ePA is available to AOK policyholders.
AOK and x-tention placed great importance on factors such as security, stability, performance, and additional functions including digital identity and authorization management.
What’s more, the x-tention ePA is perfectly integrated into AOK’s existing systems thanks to very flexible integration technology. This allows policyholders to benefit from an optimum user experience.
