- Building phase begins for x-tention group’s new headquarters
- The x-tention campus provides jobs for 350 employees
- The new build features innovative technology and sustainable economics
x-tention’s managing directors, Herbert Stöger and Wolfgang Pramendorfer, joined representatives of the town of Wels today to officially kick off the construction of the x-tention campus. At the traditional ground-breaking ceremony with mayor Dr Andreas Rabl and town councillors Dr Martin Oberndorfer, chair of the Economic Committee, and Ralph Schäfer MSc, chair of the Construction, Housing and Town Development Committee, Herbert Stöger underlined the importance of the Wels location for the group. “Starting to build the x-tention campus is a major milestone in the growth of our company group and signifies our strong commitment to this business location. Wels combines the advantages of a small town with the infrastructure of a big city. Its central location is also ideal for fast travel from Linz airport to other European cities and the other x-tention group locations.”
The working world of the future
350 workers from the Wels region will be welcomed to the campus, which is conveniently located close to the station. The new company headquarters, to be built under the direction of architect Dipl. Ing. Manfred Lindorfer, will give x-tention a company office that not only complies with current construction and workplace standards, but also makes use of state-of-the-art technology to create optimum, future-proof working conditions. The construction project specifically focuses on the well-being of the workers. As well as offering a range of amenities to help people organize their daily work, the new building with its two atria will be an oasis of green.
Optimum energy footprint thanks to forward-looking technology
The new office building will be operated in a climate-friendly, sustainable manner using innovative technology and will have an equal energy balance, in keeping with the group’s cutting-edge portfolio of goods and services. To be more precise, this means that the building will generate as much energy using solar modules during its day-to-day operations as it consumes over the course of a year. Insulation materials for walls and windows, efficient resources such as innovative lighting and a state-of-the-art geothermal system with depth probes for heating and cooling will play a key role in maintaining the energy balance. Rainwater collection tanks and environmentally friendly construction materials make the build even more sustainable. “We’re delighted that our location in Wels offers ideal conditions for a high-tech IT company such as x-tention to start up and grow. And we’re thrilled to have fostered an environment that enables the group to continue to develop here with us, generating cutting-edge, long-term jobs for the region,” says the mayor of Wels, Dr Andreas Rabl.
