x-tention and TÜV AUSTRIA have signed a framework cybersecurity contract with the Austrian Federal Procurement Agency (BBG). The two companies have formed a joint venture under the name ARGE x-tention GmbH & TÜV Austria OG. Their security experts are now offering an extensive range of services relating to information security and data protection to BBG’s clients from all sectors.

A partnership for greater security

x-tention and TÜV Austria have been supporting companies and institutions with information security and data protection services for many years. Under the umbrella of the newly formed joint venture, the two companies are now offering coordinated IT security solutions in Austria. ‘TÜV AUSTRIA is our ideal partner for offering BBG clients innovative cybersecurity services for all areas of their business,’ says Michael Punz, Head of Information Security and Data Protection at the x-tention group. ‘Our many years of experience in data protection and information security for the healthcare sector, together with TÜV AUSTRIA’s diverse offerings, form the basis for our new bespoke products and services.’

BBG’s clients have been able to book the joint venture’s new services in the BBG digital shop since March. The broad offering includes products and services around IT infrastructure checks, organizational information security, technical information security and data protection.  ‘This partnership is the best of both worlds for BBG clients,’ adds Alexander Zeppelzauer, Authorized Representative and Sales Director Digital Services at TÜV AUSTRIA, and Managing Director of the joint venture on the TÜV AUSTRIA side. ‘We are now extending our highly sought-after cybersecurity, data protection and certification services by bringing in x-tention’s expertise in health and social care. In the future we’ll work together to help new target groups optimize their IT security.’

Cutting-edge cybersecurity products and expert advice

The security experts use a tailored security check-up and a basic infrastructure check to inspect a company’s IT network and determine its level of security and data protection. The specialists use the results to draw up the necessary measures and provide recommendations for the operators. For a company’s organizational information security, the experts help prepare for ISO 270XX certification, oversee the building of an ISMS, and can provide an external CISO to monitor the implementation of all measures if required.

The joint venture also offers managed services and client services for technical information security. Cutting-edge endpoint detection and response options ensure that BBG clients’ systems receive the best possible long-term protection against attacks. The team has developed a broad array of products and services in data protection and data protection management, too. They can provide input during the concept design phase, for instance, by coordinating the building of a practice-based data protection management system. With GDPR compliance management and a data breach simulation, they optimize data protection throughout the client’s infrastructure, while also making processes more efficient.
