Starting situation

The aim of the project was to migrate the hospital’s existing CAFM system to the existing waveware system of Krems State Hospital as an additional client. It was, of course, an essential requirement that Krems Hospital could continue working in the waveware system without interruption while the cleansed and implemented data from Tulln Hospital was imported.

Project implementation

Drawing on the x-tention team’s experience and the commitment of the Tulln University Hospital staff, we set up a test system into which we transferred all the data. At the same time, we had to enhance the Krems Hospital database by adding a client for Tulln Hospital.
As many processes had already been adapted in the existing installations, the two hospitals needed to align to ensure that those processes could also be deployed to optimum effect in the new client. A major advantage of this alignment is that the hospitals jointly maintain a global type catalogue, enabling them both to benefit from each other’s catalogue data.

Post-project phase

Staff were trained, the system went live, and they have since been working extensively with wa-veware.
Before, only medical technology had been documented in the CAFM system. Since the switch, this has been joined by the entire facility and building technology, which now also document all activi-ties, equipment and appointments in waveware.
